Jennifer Mahaney, LPCC-S
I have lived in Northern Kentucky my whole life and have always worked here and in Cincinnati. I have experience working with adults, children, and families. I am a Registered Play Therapist and believe that you can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.
My specialties include working with children (ages 2-12, usually) facing anxiety and depression, or with struggles at home or in school. I was a school-based therapist for a number of years and feel I have good insight into some of the challenges kids experience at school.
I have had extensive training in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), both of which are used in the treatment of trauma. I am a fan of client-centered therapy, in that I believe no one knows more about you and your child than you and your child. My role is to help you explore what you know, in order to make changes that will be helpful to you.
I am currently seeing clients in-person at our Florence office, and via telehealth in Ohio and Kentucky. I am also able to supervise counseling students/dependently licensed counselors in Ohio and Kentucky.
