Michael Barnes, APRN-CNP, PMHNP-BC

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience treating a broad
range of mental health conditions. I believe in treating the mind, body, and spirit using an evidence-
based and holistic approach. I work with the client as a team to identify and treat mental health needs.

Prior to completing my advanced nursing degree at The Ohio State University, my experience in
psychiatry began as a psychiatric care technician and then as a psychiatric registered nurse at The Ohio
State University Wexner Medical Center Harding Hospital.

I have experience in adult inpatient psychiatry, outpatient psychiatry, medication-assisted treatment for
addictions, and Veterans mental healthcare. I have worked as a First-Episode Psychosis (FEP) and Early
Serious Mental Illness (ESMI) provider. I also have extensive emergency management training,
certifications, and experience.

Psychiatry evaluation and medication management sessions for adults are by appointment only and
conducted through telepsychiatry. In-person appointments are conducted in Creekside’s Hillsboro office
and have limited availability. Telepsychiatry appointments are completed in the comfort of your own
home on a mobile phone, tablet, or computer. No more waiting until your appointment to speak to your
provider. I personally respond to patient calls, texts, and email within 24 hours, but typically within an
hour.
