Gwendolyn Niesen, MSW, LISW

As a psychotherapist, I believe there is always hope. I specialize in working with individuals and couples navigating grief, trauma, anxiety and relational challenges. My approach is grounded in compassion, evidence-based care, and the belief that every person, regardless of their past, deserves to be heard, understood, and empowered to live a life of intention and joy.
I am trained in EMDR therapy, which is my preferred treatment method for helping clients process painful memories and reclaim their sense of peace. I also hold Level 2 training in the Gottman Method and enjoy working with couples to build stronger, more meaningful relationships.
Many of the people I work with carry shame or guilt from their past, and I consider it an honor to help them discover their past doesn’t have to define their future. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, validated and supported while equipping them with practical tools to navigate life with greater confidence and clarity.
Outside of the therapy room, you’ll find me spending time with my two amazing adult children, beautiful family and friends, traveling, reading, swimming, snow skiing, rollerblading and cheering on our home team the Cincinnati Reds. I have a soft spot for children and animals and genuinely enjoy when clients share stories and pictures of their human and fur babies.
Whether you’re coming to therapy for the first time or returning after some time away, I look forward to walking alongside you with warmth, empathy and care.
